I worked within the HR department at Pinnacle. During my pregnancy I was able to be open with my manager and my manager and team were very flexible with me in terms of working from home and time off for appointments. I had an easy pregnancy therefore I don’t believe i asked for much. After much debate I was able to return after Mat leave on part time hours with an agreed set day working from home. However this was a bit of a battle to get agreed although. Each decision is made based on the manager’s viewpoint rather than the overall business opinion. However, when I returned to work, the part time flexible working worked for me and the company. I was a remote worker who was required to go to different offices and therefore already had a laptop and mobile which allowed me to work anywhere – which strengthened my argument to be allowed to work from home on a set day.
